Things kids say...

The other day Wes was making juice and Shalon says "Daddy are you swimming the bubbles away?"

She said something really funny yesterday too. Only now I can't remember. I keep thinking when I hear them that I ought to write it down right then but I don't usually get around to it.

I do have more pictures to post and maybe I'll get to it. I have been taking a bunch of pictures with the kids and will have a lot more over the next week because Cutler turns 1 and we are going to Oregon. David's farewell is next Sunday the 28th at 11 am. Anyone around come see me because I haven't been home in over a year!

Well I have to get back to the laundry. My goal is to have empty laundry baskets when we leave tomorrow... I'm so close.

Playing with Friends

Shalon likes to have Cora and Ruby over to play. Apparently they thought it was the most fun dumping all the toys out and getting in the "toy box."

One day...

I keep meaning to post. I couldn't find my camera to upload my pictures. I had it found and was going to FINALLY do it tonight and lo and behold my camera is missing again. I will find it...

Goals for the week: #1 Potty train Shalon (can I just say I'm more than a little apprehensive about this and the only reason she probably isn't potty trained yet is because I haven't wanted to. I am nervous about the accidents especially on new carpet and furniture. I guess we'll shampoo it when this is over. I should have a clean kitchen and bathroom because that's where we'll be all week long. We aren't going anywhere this week. Bring on the tinkerbell underwear)... #2 Upload pictures to my blog.... #3 Keep up the exercising...

Cute and Funny Things Shalon says:
"Daddy you're a boy because boys have beards. Girls are pretty."
"I love my little brudder."
She says " I can't reMEMBER" all the time. Little emphasis on the re big on the member.
The other day was just one of those days. I told Shalon "you're driving me crazy." So she gets in my face and says "you're driving me NUTS." At that point I just had to laugh, and then it was naptime. : )

New Year

A new year... New goals... Blogging has taken a back seat and one of these days I will get back on the bandwagon. I am trying to become more organized. I am in the process of dejunking my house. I am trying a little harder to be a little better. Lately I have started reading scriptures while the kids and I are eating breakfast. I am trying to read the entire old testament this year. Hopefully I can stick with it...

And life goes on...

Deer Hunting

You know you live in Wyoming when... you go deer hunting with your husband...

The year after Wes and I got married I took a hunter's safety class. I came home to a brand new rifle. Wes wanted me to go hunting that year but I had morning sickness with Shalon. So I went the next year when Shalon was a few months old. I shot Bambi. Well actually Felina...

I didn't go last year but I decided I would this year because Wes knows a guy that has some property we can hunt on. Hunting consisted of loading the kids into the jeep. Driving into this guys field. Not jumping out of the car because I'm slow and really not a hunter. Driving back around to get another shot. Jumping out of the car, leaning across the hood and taking a shot. Whoo hoo deer down. Well sort of. I shot the doe in the hind quarters breaking one hip. She couldn't get far. She managed to get throught the fence and into the borrow ditch so we went out on the road. I seriously didn't think I could shoot it again. Far away, no problem. Up close, ahhh... Well I was about 5 feet away and shot. Totally missed I had looked through the scope. Wes told me to look down the barrel so I did and shot her in the head.

Just after that a truck load of 3 old men came down the road. The old guy rolls down the window. They were so excited for me. It was funny. He asked where I shot the deer. Wes says "in the head." I corrected him and said in the butt. He was trying to make me look good. haha.

Shalon had to get out of the car to see the deer and she says "Good job Mom." What can I say? She's growing up in Wyoming.
