June 22nd

This is Shalon's actual birthday. We didn't do too much because we had celebrated the day before. We had to take Cutler in for his 4 month appointment. He got 2 shots and an oral vaccine. He weighed 14 lbs. 13 oz and was 25 inches long. My baby is growing up!

Shalon and her slide. She will say.
Play. Slide. Fun. 1,2,3 wheeeee.

Shalon's 2nd Birthday

Shalon turned 2 June 22nd. On Father's day we had a party for her. Grandma Susan, Clinton, Holly and Kurtis came. Wes smoked a pork loin and we had a baked potato bar. Shalon made out like a little bandit.

This card was from Gr. Grandma and Grandpa Walker. I'd been saving it for her party. However she found it about an hour or so before everyone got here. This is what I found.

Shalon's cake was a purse. I thought it turned out really cute. It was a party cake mix with chocolate cream cheese frosting. I decorated it with pull and peel twizzlers, a life saver for the clasp, cherry tic tacs, and skittles.

Camping

June 19th and 20th we went to a campout that was put on by the union Wes works for. It was at the 4-H campground on the Big Horns. It was really nice. There were 6 or 7 families there and then more people came up Saturday for the picnic. Shalon had a lot of fun and Cutler was really good too. He slept completely through the night. I was a little cold but overall it was fun except for Shalon getting us up at 5:30 am because the sun was up...

We decided to go off-roading on our way home. Somebody told us about Duncan Lake so we got our map out and went searching. Good thing we had 4-wheel drive because otherwise we'd never have made it. The passenger side of the jeep got scratched up from a tree (oops!). Maybe we'll go back someday but the road was really bad. We did find a place we might like to go camping at on the way though, that's not too hard to get to.

Roll over

I laid Cutler on the floor and was out of the room for a few moments. I saw Shalon carrying Cutler's truck in the living room. Evidently she put it next to his head. When I came in the room he had rolled over and was reaching for his truck. What a boy!

Yard Work

We have been doing yard work. Wes made me a nice flower bed that has my lilacs in it. I planted some petunia's in it as well. Here's my family hard at work. June 12, 2009.

My friend Mandy gave us this chair for Cutler. He sits up fairly well. This was taken June 11, 2009.

Shalon loves to dress up in my clothes. She found this cami and decided to put it on along with some dress shoes. Oh to be young again... Taken June 12, 2009.

Never thought it would happen to me...

The latest craze is couponing. I check out people's blogs and see all their great deals and think to myself... wouldn't that be nice. Well a week and a half ago it was me... I went to Albertson's to get some Suddenly Salads because Wes really likes them and they are easy to make... So I had 3 coupons I was going to use and Albertson's had double your coupons. However when I went in the boxes themselves had coupons on them which were way better than the ones I had. So it went something like this...

10 boxes of Suddenly Salad get a $3 discount for buying 10 items= $7 instead of $10
5 coupons buy 2 get $1 off (which were on the boxes of salad)=$5 off
3 Albertson's double coupons=$3 off
and I bought 2.5 lbs of grapes
My total was... drum roll please... $1.64

They paid me to take the boxes of salad. How awesome is that?! So that was on a Saturday. I went back on Monday to see if they had anymore Suddenly Salads (because the sale ends Tuesday and I figured if they weren't gone they were fair game) and did the same thing again, but this time I had a few more items. That total was $5 and change.

June 8, 2009- 2nd Shopping trip

I could get used to this... I'm just trying to decide if it's worth it to buy multiple copies of the Sunday paper to really get couponing. Do you really save all the cost of that and then some?

Trampoline fun

June 8, 2009. We had Meg, Cora, and Ruby over to play. The girls loved jumping. Ruby took to it like a fish to water. They had so much fun we'll have to do it again sometime.

Wes' Graduation

I've been meaning to post for a while but I didn't feel like uploading all my pictures.

Wes graduated May 29, 2009. It was interesting. They had a golf tournament earlier in the day. Evidently most people were drunk before that got over. They had a dinner and then the "ceremony". The director of the program was drunk and so was one of the graduates that was speaking. It was different. I have never been around a bunch of drunks... Anyway...

We are very excited that Wes is done with school. He can't take his journeyman test until the end of August. So far out of Wes' class only 4 out of 10 people have passed the test. So.... Wes will have to study before he takes it. : )

Sorry the pictures aren't very good. I had a hard time figuring out what setting to use on my camera because of the lighting.

Newest Family Pictures

Kudos to Jamie for taking awesome pictures. She took our family pictures and then some of the kids (well mostly Shalon). I thought they were so cute so I made a collage of them. I had almost 100 to choose from.

Wes' new toy

When we got home on Memorial Day we decided we had to do some yard work because it needed done and we are never there. However, the lawn mower needed a new blade so we went to Home Depot. We got that and then some. We came home with this...
and this...

It's a trimmer and a tiller attachment. Kinda cool. So now I get a flower bed and maybe a garden. Depends on how much we are home this summer...

Memorial Weekend Trip- Part 4

May 25th- Mt. Rushmore and Devils Tower

We decided to take a detour on the way home and went back to Mt. Rushmore just to take pictures. We used our parking pass (which is good for a year) and just stayed in the parking lot. It ended up being about an additional 50 miles but we did see the heads. We also stopped by Devils Tower on the way home. We didn't actually drive in but took pictures along the side of the road. We wanted to get home.

At the parking lot of Mt. Rushmore.
(We didn't want to take the time to go in, we just wanted a picture in front of it
but the guy taking the picture couldn't see the screen so we just got the cars.)
