Distractions

I've decided I need distractions and so do my kids. I don't know that we did things every day in Sheridan, but looking back it sure feels like we did, even if it was just the occasional trip to Wal-Mart. However I don't want to drive 30 minutes to Wal-Mart just to get out... What is there to do in Nyssa to get out of the house?!?

Lesley shared a bunch of her doubler coupons with me and I'd ordered some coupons our area didn't get off ebay. Yesterday and today I went couponing. There was an awesome sale at Albertson's on DelMonte vegetables. I got a liquid Tide, a big box of pampers diapers, febreeze air freshener, 12 yogurts, fresh express salad kit, and 5 cases of corn, green beans, and diced tomatoes (60 cans) for a total of $33.37. A savings of $128.57. Plus I still have $12 in catalinas to spend as cash. Yippee for good deals!

We went to the library this morning but just missed story time. Sounds like they do a decent one in Nyssa so I'm sure Shalon will look forward to that every week. Shalon asked about her friend Alexa today. I told her Alexa was in Sheridan so she said "well let's go get her and bring her to Oregon." She's also asked about Cora and Ruby. I just have to tell her maybe they can have a playdate when she goes to visit Wes.

My thought for the day is this... "Our responsibility is not trivial; it is not by chance that we are who we are; the keeping of our covenants in these days of destiny will be a badge of honor throughout all the eternities." -Elder Neil L. Andersen

Did you get something out of general conference? I've been reading 2 different picture Book of Mormon's with the kids but after Sis. Wixom's talk I decided we'd really read the Book of Mormon. I read one verse and Shalon repeats a verse. At this rate it's going to take a while but I'm excited to say that we are following the counsel of our church leaders. I hope that it will be a testimony builder to my kids and lay a good foundation of scripture study for us. Start out small and build upon it.

Hey, doesn't a successful couponing adventure always feel great? I love it! Glad you were able to get out and do that! So I am not a texter and I just noticed your text on my phone. Ooops! Sorry. As far as reading the scriptures, we started reading the actual Book of Mormon with our kids probably about 18 mos-2 yrs ago, and it turned Kallie into a super reader. She is quite a ways ahead of the other kids in her class, so there are many different blessings that come from it, even if it is HARD sometimes! That new family picture is beautiful! Holy crap you look think. Your kids look so cute too! I am probably coming up in a week. We'll have to get the little monsters together! :-)
