Newest Family Pictures

Kudos to Jamie for taking awesome pictures. She took our family pictures and then some of the kids (well mostly Shalon). I thought they were so cute so I made a collage of them. I had almost 100 to choose from.

Uncle T

Uncle Clinton came out of his way to play with Shalon on his way back to North Dakota. It was so nice of him and Shalon had so much fun playing with him. Thanks Uncle "T".

Wes' new toy

When we got home on Memorial Day we decided we had to do some yard work because it needed done and we are never there. However, the lawn mower needed a new blade so we went to Home Depot. We got that and then some. We came home with this...
and this...

It's a trimmer and a tiller attachment. Kinda cool. So now I get a flower bed and maybe a garden. Depends on how much we are home this summer...

Memorial Weekend Trip- Part 4

May 25th- Mt. Rushmore and Devils Tower

We decided to take a detour on the way home and went back to Mt. Rushmore just to take pictures. We used our parking pass (which is good for a year) and just stayed in the parking lot. It ended up being about an additional 50 miles but we did see the heads. We also stopped by Devils Tower on the way home. We didn't actually drive in but took pictures along the side of the road. We wanted to get home.

At the parking lot of Mt. Rushmore.
(We didn't want to take the time to go in, we just wanted a picture in front of it
but the guy taking the picture couldn't see the screen so we just got the cars.)

Shalon was bored and sick of the car by this time.

Memorial Weekend Trip- Part 3

May 24th- This is what the weather was like when we went to Mt. Rushmore. It was a little dissapointing. We walked around the trails and looked at the museums. There are a lot of stairs.

Clearing momentarily.

After seeing Mt. Rushmore we were going to go to Reptile Gardens but instead went impulsively to Bear Country. It's like a drive thru wildlife thing. All I can say is they must make loads of money because it was packed and they don't charge per car it's per person in the car. Yikes! What was supposed to take 30-45 minutes to drive thru took well over an hour. We were thinking it was pretty lame until we got Shalon out of her carseat and let her drive the car. She made it all worth it. When we finally got around to the bears she would tap on the glass and cry "beaw" (she can't say r's very well if at all). Wes said that was worth it and after we got out and walked around babyland we went to the gift shop and she was awarded a bear by daddy.

Memorial Weekend Trip- Part 1

We decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Mt. Rushmore for Memorial Weekend. We didn't leave until about noon on Saturday because I had to go visiting teaching Saturday morning.

May 23rd Storybook Island- Rapid City, South Dakota

This is the place to go if you have kids. It has all sorts of things for kids to play on/in. Everything is from Nursery Rhymes, Storybooks, and the movies. Best of all it was FREE! although they do accept donations...

Wesley, Wesley pumpkin eater, had a wife and couldn't keep her,
so he put her in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well...

Had to prove he was there... most picture are of Shalon.

The train... Shalon's in the last car

One thing I thought was really cool about this place it was wheelchair friendly. They had a swing for wheelchairs and also the cabbose on the end of the train was for someone in a wheelchair. There was also a playground just for kids 5 and under.
If you go to visit Mt. Rushmore you must take your kids here.
