Picking Chokecherries
Shalon didn't want to go down for a nap one day so we picked chokecherries instead. I moved the trampoline under the tree so she could pick the lowest branches. She thought it was great fun and when we were done she got a cherry popsicle.

Shalon's Traumatic Day
I haven't been doing a whole lot of blogging lately. I got a new calling in church (my 3rd since January, they can't make up their minds where they want me.) 1st sec. in the RS, 2nd Compassionate Service Leader, and my new calling is pianist for the primary.
Pianist is a calling that puts me WAY out of my comfort zone! I play the piano when I go to Wes' parents house but I only know about 1 primary song and 4 hymns. To top it off the primary program is in a month so I have to learn 7 songs to play in Sacrament Meeting. I was a little intimidated but I guess I'd rather learn to accompany in primary than to have to play in sacrament meeting every week.
So I have been practicing the piano in my spare time aka when the kids are sleeping. I also am taking piano lessons until the program is over with.
Last Monday night we put Shalon to bed. Evidently she wasn't tired and very bored. We went to bed and I could hear her saying something about her nose. I guessed that she'd put kleenex up it because there is a box on the dresser next to her bed. Wes went in there but he didn't turn on the light. She wouldn't let him touch her nose so that should have tipped him off. Well she went to sleep.
The next morning I had to go get my blood drawn for the health fair. I went in to get Shalon up and there was kleenex EVERYWHERE! Wadded up like spitwads all over her bed. It was like it had snowed. So I made her lay down and I looked up her nose. Sure enough Kleenex. So I tried to suck it out with one of those nose suckers. Didn't work. So I called the Dr.'s office and said how soon can we get in.
I went to get my blood drawn and a piece came out of one nostril. Then when we were at the Dr's office a piece came out of the other side and I thought oh good. Well then I looked up it again, Still more tissue. In comes Dr. Wohl. A nurse had to hold Shalon's arms and head, I had to lay across her legs and the Dr laid across her stomach. He had a head lamp on so he could see up her nose and these long grabber things. He kept pulling and pulling kleenex out of her nose. I couldn't believe how much was up there! Shalon was screaming which set Cutler off screaming. Great fun. So they got it all taken care of. Evidently kids who do that usually become repeat offenders so I have moved the kleenex. He told me if her nose starts smelling it's a good indication that there is something up it. How gross is that!?!
Then when we were leaving Shalon fell in the parking lot and scraped her knees. It's a week later and she is still saying this is my owie knee... Oh to be a kid again.

Yard Sales
Last Saturday I went yard saleing. I ended up with some good stuff. I got a Halloween costume for Shalon and I bought pumpkin costume for Cutler. I figured it would be too small but it was only .50 cents. So I brought it home and took pictures. It barely fit. I'm sending it to Alexis. That playmat I got for Cutler too. He enjoys it. I also got some church clothes for him which are hard to find nice church clothes for boys unless they are older or it's the holidays... I got Shalon a bunch of toys which she's been having fun with. Oh the joys of being cheap!

Casper
We had a good time in Casper when we went with Wes. The kids loved going swimming. Shalon would even swim by herself (meaning I didn't have to hold on to her) with her arm floaties. Cutler can sit up by himself and tries to sit up if he's propped up. We also got to go to a baseball game. The Union office is season ticket holders so you can just call up and request tickets... I love free! We were trying to figure out why they were called the ghosts when their mascot is a platypus. They used to be subsidized by Denver but aren't any longer so they had to change their name. They have the same mascot they used to but are called the ghosts because of Casper the friendly Ghost. Kind of dumb but hey it was fun.
Cutler is now 5 months old. He rolls over, sits up and is getting so big. He goes in at the end of the month for his 6 month check up. Crazy.

Catching up
So I keep meaning to post but just don't quite get around to it. So I am multi-tasking. Blogging and feeding the baby at the same time...
This summer seems to have gone by extremely fast. Here it is already August... This year my parents have over doubled grandchildren. My sister and brother both had babies in July. Soren and Alexis.
My own kids are growing up so fast. Cutler is rolling over and is very flexible. He's now 5 months old. He has been fussy over the last week and is either on a growth spurt or is teething. However I have seen no evidence of teeth. He has slept thru the night very well since he was 2 months old and is now wanting to get up to eat. Hopefully this goes away soon. Shalon is very independent. She loves to say "I did it" about everything. Some of her other favorite phrases are "no Daddy, stop it" and "it's goot (good)". Yesterday she got to play on the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath. She kept calling her swimming suit a swimming soup.
We have had a lot of summer projects. Wes made me some flower beds in the front yard (Iguess I should take a picture of them. They turned out nice and the flowers are actually blooming.) Uncle David came over a couple weeks ago and helped Wes drill a well. We did hit water but there is at least 4 feet of sandy mud in the bottom of it. We rented a trash pump to get it out but just succeeded in plugging up the pump so now we are going to plan b. We are going to pound in pipe or I should say Wes is. However he is working on a side job right now which he's trying to finish up this week so he can get back to working around our house. :)
He had to work out of town in Casper the last 2 weeks but is now back home. The first week the kids and I went down with him. We had a good time. I'll post about that later...
