Growing up

My baby is growing up soooo fast. Cutler turned 6 months old on August 22nd. He is so much fun. Shalon dances around him and he thinks she is the funniest thing ever and just giggles. They entertain each other.

I took him in for his 6 month check up. He got 3 shots and an oral vaccine. He was 26 1/2 inches long and 17 lbs 9 oz. To put this in perspective Shalon was only 19 1/2 lbs at a year old. He will soon be catching her becuase she's only 24 1/2 lbs now. However he is healthy and currently cutting teeth...

Shalon loves Shopping

I couldn't help taking this picture of Shalon after shopping one day. She loves going shopping. I guess the other day she was with Wes and they were driving past Walgreens and she said SHOPPING! Wes was like yep you go there with Mom but we aren't going shopping.

They have these carts at Albertson's and Safeway. Shalon loves them but they are so hard to drive because they are soooo long!

The Bill

I recieved the EOB from the insurance company the other day regarding Shalon's kleenex removal from her nose. I about fell over from sticker shock... The Dr's office charged the insurance company $394.00 Utterly ridiculous. I don't know how much of that I have to pay yet. I have to fill out paperwork like an accident report because they were charged so much or something... I should have asked for the "special tweezers" they used because I'm pretty sure they threw them away after they were used. I caught her stuffing kleenex up her nose again the other day, luckily I caught her in time and only had to get one piece out.

Kids are Funny

The other day I was doing something in the kitchen and Shalon runs in. The conversation goes something like this...
Shalon: Stinky
Mommy: You're stinky?
Shalon: No. Stinky Mommy?
Mommy: What's stinky? Show me?
She proceeds to take my finger and walk me out of the kitchen to the hallway.
Shalon: Stinky. Eww gross. (pointing at my new air freshener plugged into the wall)
Mommy: That's not stinky that smells good.
Shalon: No, it's stinky. Eww gross.
There's no changing the minds of 2 year olds. :)

Camping

We went camping last weekend at Porcupine Falls. We probably would have bailed but we'd already told everyone we were going. We met the student branch up there. When we got there it was raining and ended up setting up the tent in a downpour leaving the kids in the car. It finally quit raining and ended up being an enjoyable night.

Members from the branch showed up around 8:30. We had our fire going so they just added tinfoil dinners to it. We stayed up pretty late visiting. Then Shalon decided to wake us up at 2 in the morning screaming. We didn't know what her problem was and couldn't get her to stop. We were very frustrated and wanted to yell at her to be quiet or something but restrained ourselves because there were people camped right next to us. About the time Wes had his shoes on to take her to the car and spank her she decided to quit crying.

About 5:30 a.m. or so it decided to start raining, hailing, snowing. We found out our tent leaked. Evidently there was a stick that poked a hole in the corner and it was leaking at the seams. We all stayed pretty comfortable. I picked up Cutler and he was wet. The sleeping bag had gotten wet and soaked thru. Luckily he wasn't completely soaked, it just got his blanket and jacket wet.

The rain never let up. Someone rigged up a tarp between a few trees so everyone was crammed in under it. About 10 in the morning we'd had it so everyone was scurrying around to get packed up. I ended up taking the sleeping bags to the laundry mat to wash them so they wouldn't be nasty...
